Terms of Service

1. Purpose and acceptance

PrestaVite is a marketplace that connects clients with independent, verified service providers in Cameroon. By creating an account or using the app, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. Definitions

“Client”: the user who books a service. “Provider”: the independent user who performs it. “Job”: the service booked through the app. “Escrow”: PrestaVite holding the payment until the job is confirmed.

3. Eligibility and account

You must be at least 18 and have the legal capacity to contract. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and take responsibility for all activity on your account. Tell us immediately about any unauthorised use.

4. Our role

PrestaVite is a technical INTERMEDIARY: we provide the platform, secure payment, and the introduction. We are neither a party to the service contract nor the provider’s employer. The job is performed under the provider’s sole responsibility.

5. Bookings and pricing

A job’s price is set by the service or the provider’s rate and is shown to you BEFORE you confirm. Any travel fee and options appear separately before payment. A confirmed booking forms a direct agreement between the client and the provider.

6. Payments, escrow and commission

Payments are processed via MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money. The amount is held in ESCROW and released to the provider only after the client confirms the job, or after it is automatically confirmed once the window in the Dispute Resolution policy has passed. As of today, PrestaVite takes NO commission on a provider’s work: they receive 100% of the job amount. The platform earns from optional services (boosted placement, credits, subscriptions). Any commission rate is shown on the Pricing page and is LOCKED at the moment of booking: a later change never applies to a job already accepted.

7. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

The rules for cancellation, refunds and dispute resolution are set out in the “Cancellation & Refund” and “Dispute Resolution” policies. Those documents form an integral part of these Terms.

8. Client obligations

You describe your need accurately, give the provider safe access and working conditions, and pay the agreed price. Any abusive, fraudulent or dangerous behaviour may lead to suspension of your account.

9. Provider obligations

You perform the job professionally, within the agreed time, in line with its description and the rules that apply to your trade. As an independent worker, you are solely responsible for your tax, social and regulatory obligations, and for the quality and safety of your work.

10. Verification (KYC)

Providers undergo an identity check before they can display the “verified” badge. The badge attests to an identity check, not a guarantee of outcome. Documents submitted are used only for verification and are never published (see the Privacy Policy).

11. Content and intellectual property

You keep your rights in the content you post (portfolio photos, descriptions, reviews) and grant PrestaVite a non-exclusive licence to display it as part of the service. You warrant that you hold the rights to that content. The PrestaVite brand, logo and software remain our property.

12. Prohibited use

The following are prohibited, among others: taking the transaction off the platform to bypass escrow protection, posting contact details to avoid secure payment, impersonating someone, posting unlawful content, or disrupting the service. Such behaviour may lead to sanctions up to account closure.

13. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these Terms, fraud, or repeated no-shows (see the reliability policy). Jobs and payments already in progress remain governed by the escrow and dispute rules.

14. Warranties and liability

The service is provided “as is”. PrestaVite does not guarantee a provider’s availability, the quality of their work, or a response time. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a job is capped at the amount of that job. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. The version that applies is the one published on this page; its last-updated date is shown at the top. By continuing to use the service after a change, you accept the new version.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cameroon and, where relevant, the OHADA Uniform Acts. Any dispute not settled amicably falls to the competent Cameroonian courts.
