1. Data controller
PrestaVite is responsible for the personal data collected through the app and the site. For any question about your data: privacy@prestavite.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account: name, phone number, email, password (hashed, never readable).
- Provider: service category, coverage area, rates, portfolio photos, identity-verification documents.
- Jobs: bookings, messages exchanged, reviews, history.
- Payment: the information needed to process via MTN and Orange. Sensitive data is tokenised; we never store your Mobile Money PIN.
- Technical: device, connection logs and usage data needed for security and correct operation.
3. How we use your data
To provide and secure the service (introductions, escrow payment, transactional notifications), verify providers’ identities, prevent fraud and abuse, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and improve the app. We do not use your data for third-party targeted advertising.
4. Sharing
Your data is shared only with: the provider or client involved in a job, as far as needed to carry it out; our payment partners (MTN, Orange); and technical sub-processors (hosting, email and SMS delivery, notifications) acting solely on our instructions. We do not sell your data.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active, then for as long as needed to meet our legal and accounting obligations (notably transaction records) and to handle any disputes. Verification documents are kept only for as long as strictly necessary.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed, sensitive secrets are encrypted, and access to data is limited to those who need it. No system is infallible: if an incident affects your data, we take appropriate measures and inform you where the law requires.
7. Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, request a copy or its deletion, and close your account from Settings. Some data may have to be retained where the law requires (for example payment records). To exercise your rights: privacy@prestavite.com.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are essential to the service (session, language preference) and for audience measurement. You can set your browser to limit them; some features may then stop working.
9. Minors
The service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.
10. Processing and transfers
Your data is processed in accordance with applicable Cameroonian law. Where we use sub-processors located outside Cameroon, we ensure that appropriate safeguards govern the processing.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The version that applies is the one published on this page, together with its last-updated date.
